Davidson is out for a few weeks
ST JOHNSTONE midfield man Murray Davidson won’t need an operation on his ankle injury but he will be out for a few weeks.
The former Livingston player pulled up i n the warm-up of the away draw against Rangers a week past Wednesday and saw a specialist yesterday.
There is damage to the bone and Saints will have a clearer indication in another week as to how long he will be out. It’s likely he will be missing f or between three to six weeks.
One player who will be taking the field against H e a r t s a t Ty n e c a s t l e tomorrow is striker Steven MacLean.
He has started the season well being regularly among the goals — his latest at home to Partick Thistle.
“That was a good, welltaken goal from a fantastic piece of skill by David Wotherspoon,” said Saints manager Tommy Wright.
“Macca has done OK for us with his goals and o v e r a l l p l a y. H e h a s performed well and, hopefully, will continue to do so.”
The Perth men have done well at Tynecastle in recent seasons and trust t hat continues tomorrow.
They have beaten Hearts twice already this season at McDiarmid Park, i n t he league and Betfred Cup, but Tommy knows tomorrow’s game is a tough one.
He said:“They have some quality players.”
Meanwhile, Saints have reached the last four of the SFAYouth Cup after beating Forfar 4-3 on penalties after the teams were tied at 0-0.
