To prove I can in first team’
might be able to relax a bit in front of our home fans but I don’t think it has affected us.
“We have had a tough run of games, including three of the top four in the league at home, so it hasn’t been easy.
“We haven’t started the campaign well but I don’t think it matters whether we are home or away, we just need to win.”
Manager Paul Hartley had said there were some open and frank views in the aftermath of the Partick Thistle defeat.
The striker thinks it had a positive impact on the team in the lead up to last weekend’s win at Hamilton.
“I think the situation we were in we had to be honest with each other,” explained Craig.
“Everyone has to take responsibility, we can’t just blame one or two people. It’s the whole group.
”I think the meetings made people realise that we had to fight for each other and I think you saw that on Saturday.”
Craig’s omission from the Scotland U/21s has left him disappointed but his main focus is in doing well for Dundee at the moment.
“Scotland is a bonus and it’s great playing for your country but I just want to focus on Dundee and getting three points tomorrow is the most important thing.”
These are wise words spoken from an ever-maturing Craig Wighton, who has an opportunity to cement his place in the Dundee team tomorrow.
