POSITIVE SEND-OFF PLEA FROM McGHEE
MARK McGhee has urged his Motherwell side to pack him off to Wembley with a win and let him leave his Fir Park troubles behind.
The Steelmen boss — who doubles as Scotland assistant manager — i s due to hook up with the national team and Gordon Strachan on Sunday ahead of next week’s do-or-die World Cup qualifying clash with England.
But before that, he has club duties to attend to as ’Well travel to Dundee for tomorrow’s Ladbrokes Premiership meeting.
McGhee’s side, currently ninth in the standings, are looking to build on l ast weekend’s impressive 4-1 win over Ross County and admits
He said: “A win would allow me to leave Motherwell behind sense.
“I not dwelling on anything that is happening here when I’m away with the national team if we get a result.
“I used to see it with Stuart McCall when he was manager here. He would come to the Scotland camp and, if it was on the back of a bad result, we’d all be avoiding him for the first 12 hours.
“But if you go in on a positive note, it helps my mentality when I’m there with the national team and also helps me to leave this place behind for the six or seven days that I have to.”
