‘Shark’ hoping to bite in Aberdeen contest

-

DUNDEE professional boxer Ronnie ‘The Shark’ Clark is in action at the Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen on Saturday night.

He faces Hungarian Norbert Kalucza in a super-featherweight bout over eight three-minute rounds. The show is being put on by Stevie Maguire & Granite City Sporting Events with the headline contest being a Scottish lightweight title bout between Aberdeen’s Darren Traynor and Andrei Podusov (Kirkcaldy).

Ronnie, who has a 16 wins two draws two losses record, recently joined Belfast outfit MHD Promotions.

He has now boxed his way back into the British top 10 rankings with three impressive victories since a last punch defeat at the hands of Anthony Cacace for the Celtic title.

Ronnie knows a shot at the British super-feather title is within touching distance and he can’t afford a slip.

Kalucza is very experienced and comes with an impressive record of 12 wins and three defeats. He is ranked No 2 in Hungary.

The remainder of the card includes Aberdeen-based Polish and Latvian boxers Marek Laskowski and undefeated Arturs Selivanovs.

Tickets, £50, are still available by calling 07596 086024. A return coach has kindly been sponsored by John Pollock and will be departing from Dundee’s Olde Mill Snooker Club at 5pm.

Ronnie is being well backed in his career with several sponsors getting behind him. They are Bruce Financial Management, the Carling Property Group, Earnock Builders, Alba Combat Equipment and Liam Byrne Adventures.
