Dundee new in at Dens?

-

was seen as a project for manager Paul Hartley.

The idea would have been to allow him to gain experience in the lower leagues so he was ready to play in Scotland’s top division at a later date.

Unfortunately, with the sales of Greg Stewart and Kane Hemmings, he has been thrust into the team when he probably wasn’t ready for it.

When he has played, Yordi has worked hard but again is another player who needs a goal to kick-start his season.

The tall centre-forward has brought a different dimension to the Dundee attack since his arrival at Dens Park last month.

It is early days and the Canadian international is still looking for total match fitness but he looks to be a player that can add quality.

The striker, who had a couple of seasons with Tayside rivals St Johnstone, has been able to get the Dee men up the park by holding the ball in and linking up. At 6ft 3in, he has also given an aerial presence up top.

The former Motherwell defender had a slow start to his career at Dens but has shown his adaptability by playing in a few positions.

He had his best game in the win at the weekend having played in a holding midfield role where he was able to get close to people and make tackles.

He needs to maintain that form as the Dee try to push up the table.
