City date for Janet Devlin tour
FORMER X Factor contestant Janet Devlin i s about to embark on her latest UK tour, stopping off in Dundee later this month.
She will be performing at the city’s Beat Generator Live on Thursday November 24.
A spokesman for the 21-year-old singer songwriter said t hat since Janet’s time on the show, she has built up a massive online following of fans called the “Devlinators”.
He said they followed her career through her past releases as well as up to date music.
This includes her recent track — Outernet Song — about taking a “digital detox” from technology.
He added: “Janet has also j ust released her Christmas-inspired EP — Little Lights — all in anticipation of her long-awaited sophomore album My Opium, which is set to be released next year.
“Little Lights skilfully captures a range of feelings associated with Christmas, each song a perfect addition f or a playlist to get you into the Christmas spirit.”
Janet said: “Little Lights is a slightly darker, more mellow venture into this special time of year.”
“I wanted to acknowledge that it’s not always eggnog and wrapping paper, and that there are other, more contemplative emotions kindled at Christmas time.”
Little Lights was recorded and produced by award-winning producer Graeme Pleeth at the famous Abbey Road Studios.
