Stars hoping to make it home sweet home

-

DUNDEE CCS Stars have taken three points from each of their last two weeks’ fixtures. Now they are looking to take four points from their games this weekend.

Tonight they take on Coventry Blaze at Dundee Ice Arena (7.30).

Blaze have made three changes to their roster over the past few days and will be out to impress their coach, former Fife Flyer Danny Stewart.

That is followed by the visit of Belfast Giants to DIA tomorrow (7pm).

Giants are third in the league, six points behind leaders Cardiff Devils but with two games in hand.

The teams met twice in September where Stars took both points from a 4-3 win in Ulster. However, Giants won 5-3 in Dundee.

Stars coach Marc LeFebvre said: “Blaze, like everyone else in the league, are looking for consistency and have made some personnel changes.

“It’s going to be a tight game but our guys have responded well since our defeat from Fife and we really are confident of taking something from the game.

“Belfast will also be tough opponents as they are a strong physical team with a lot of skill.

“Our players have showed over the past t wo weekends they are committed but they have to keep it going.

“We can’t afford to have two good weekends and follow that with two bad as we’re looking to win the Conference, make the play-offs and finish as high in the league as we can.

“So our workrate has to be there for 60 minutes every game.”

Fife Flyers face Coventry Blaze in Kirkcaldy tomorrow night (7.15) hoping to repeat the 4-0 win they recorded against the Midlands club a few weeks ago.

They follow that with a trip to Altrincham take on Manchester Storm. The clubs met in Kirkcaldy recently when the Fifers inflicted a 7-0 defeat on the English side.

Flyers will be without long-term injury casualty Shayne Stockton for both games.
