THE second round of Perth and District Recreation­al League volleyball fixtures took place at Bell’s Sports Centre.

Perth Plus Mental Health are top, the only team to have scored maximum points with only four games played.

Dunfermlin­e slip into second with Hitting Bricks separating Kinross BB and Kinross Juniors, the BB being thir dand the Juniors fifth.

Kinross Mongrels played their first league game of the season against Perth High A.

They got off to a great start, winning two sets to love with teenage sisters Hannah and Rebeccah Peedle making their league debuts.

Hitting Bricks defeated Perth High A and B in their two fixtures by two sets to love.

It was Dunfermlin­e who next dumped Perth High B, following this up with another win against Motley Crew.

Motley Crew and Mongrels were involved in a titanic struggle, Mongrels just edged the first set 27-25.

However, Crew fought back to win the second set 25-15.

In the third set, the score was poised at three points each when the final whistle sounded. A rally was in progress which finished with Crew winning that one vital point for victory.

Kinross Juniors then beat Tay Pearls 2-0.

Pearls then beat Perth High C 2-0.

The Juniors then met leaders Perth Plus Mental Health and were taught a lesson, Plus Perth winning 25-13 25-6.

Plus continued their winning ways to stay top of the table, beating Aberfeldy 2-0.

Aberfeldy then met Kinross BB. The Breadalban­e side won the first set 25-17 but BB levelled by winning the second 25-22.

At 4-4 in the decider, the final whistle sounded with a rally in progress. Aberfeldy scored the vital victory point.

There are no fixtures this Sunday.
