Dark Blues trio set to miss out against Gers

-

DUNDEE boss Paul Hartley is set to be minus three players for tomorrow’s game against Rangers at Ibrox.

As the Tele revealed earlier this week, midfielder Mark O’Hara will miss the game, despite the fact he has returned to training.

And a further blow for the Dens gaffer is news Yordi Teijsse and Nicky Low are unlikely to be fit to face Mark Warburton’s men.

O’Hara’s absence has more to do with the fact he is lacking game time following a hernia op and the manager won’t take any risks.

Paul said: “Mark has trained the past few days but won’t be in the squad. He still needs a couple of reserve games. Nicky Low and Yordi Teijsse are struggling, too.”

On a positive note, James McPake has been able to train this week after almost a year out with a fractured kneecap, while Faissal El Bakhtaoui, who had been missing for a month with a calf strain, is available for selection.

Paul added: “El Bakhtaoui will be in the squad and McPake has done a couple of days training but is still a bit away from playing.”

The big dilemma facing the manager is who will play in goal at Ibrox, with the return to full fitness of Scott Bain.

David Mitchell has started the last two games which the Dark Blues have won, with Bain struggling with a groin injury since the Partick Thistle defeat.

The Dark Blues boss was keeping his cards close to his chest on the subject, saying: “Mitch has done well since he came in and Scott is a talented goalkeeper also.

“It’s a difficult decision but one I’ve got to make in terms of who plays. I have to pick the right team to win the game.”

RANGERS boss Mark Warburton has assured a frustrated Martyn Waghorn his time will come.

The former Leicester and Wigan striker was Rangers’ top goalscorer last season but has had to be content with coming off the bench for the past four matches.

Warburton said: “I read a report that we had a big fallout, which was quite interesting.

“Waggy knocked on the door and said: ‘Have we fallen out gaffer?’ I said: ‘Not as far as I’m aware, Waggy’. Far from it.

“He is frustrated but he shows it by working harder.

“When his time comes, which it will do shortly, then I’m sure he will be in shape to take it.”
