O’Hara is back in action for Dundee

- By BARRy SMITH

DUNDEE midfielder Mark O’Hara is set to return in today’s development squad game against St Mirren.

O’Hara hasn’t featured for the first team for almost a month since undergoing a hernia operation.

His return will be a major boost for Paul Hartley, although the Dee boss has been happy the way his midfield pack have been performing in recent weeks.

Paul McGowan, James Vincent and Tom Hateley have looked solid as the Dark Blues have taken six points from their last three games, something the gaffer was keen to emphasise.

He said: “I’m pleased Mark is back as it brings more competition to the midfield who have done very well while he has been out.”

However, if O’Hara comes through today’s game unscathed he will come into the reckoning for the game against Inverness on Saturday at Dens Park.

Also included in the young Dee squad today are first-teamers Faissal El Bakhtaoui, Nicky Low, Yordi Teijsse and Nick Ross.

The manager is looking for them all to get game time as some return from injury and others need time on the park

“Fas and Nicky need games as they’ve been out injured and we’re looking to get Yordi and Nick Ross minutes on the pitch.

“Some will play the full 90 and others a part of the game.”

Meanwhile, Dundee were a little surprised by news that one of their players was attracting interest from teams down south.

The club were unable to cut through the red tape and Fifa regulations with cross border transfers for James Cowan, the player mentioned, and in the end he returned home due to the complex nature of the deal.
