Woman denies assaulting child

-

A WOMAN will stand trial at Dundee Sheriff Court after allegedly assaulting a child at a school.

Laura Deasley, 35, of Beauly Square, denies assaulting a child at a primary school in Dundee earlier this year.

Deasley is accused of seizing hold of the child and pushing the child against a fence, to the child’s injury. Trial was set for January 23 with an intermediate diet on January 10.

Meanwhile, Deasley also denies a separate i ncident which allegedly caused a driver and pedestrian to take evasive action to avoid her vehicle on Strathmartine Road on March 30.

Deasley denies attempting to overtake a vehicle when it was unsafe to do so and thereafter driving on to the pavement on the wrong side of the road.

Deasley’s vehicle allegedly collided a wall and a parked van causing both vehicles to be damaged.

Her actions are said to have made Cairan Bruce, the driver of another car, and pedestrian John Ogilvie both have to take evasion action to avoid being struck by Deasley’s vehicle.

Deasley also denies a second charge of driving a car without a valid MOT certificate, again at Strathmartine Road on March 30.

A separate trial for the alleged driving offences will take place on January 25 with an intermediate diet on January 10.
