A NEW memory-themed book of short stories has been published to celebrate Dundee’s Dementia Library.

The free 70-page booklet, Patchwork Memories, was launched at an event in the Central Library and is the first publication by Dundee Libraries Creative Writing Lab.

The release was scheduled t o coincide with National Short Story Week, which aims to raise awareness and promote literary events and publications in the short-story genre.

“It is about us talking about memory as a theme and to highlight the fact that we have all these resources,” she said.

“It is just one project out of many, however, and we will look to publish more books on themes such as Lochee or the Wellgate in the near future.”

The book is available to pick up at any of the 14 public libraries in the city.

“We asked Dolly to present the award to Kirt at the conference and she did so which was absolutely superb.

“I told her about the major show I am involved with and she took a great interest in the project, asking me questions and wishing me all the best.

“And she told me she loves performing in the UK.”

The film about Dolly’s life is called “Christmas of Many Colours”.
