Woman ‘assaulted’ female at Overgate
A 21-YEAR-old woman allegedly assaulted another female at a clothing store in Dundee’s Overgate.
A member of the public said that the two females allegedly began fighting within New Look, which is based over two floors in the city shopping centre.
Overgate security staff attended the scene before the alleged incident was handed over to police.
Police Scotland today confirmed that a 21-year-old female had been charged with assault and breach of the peace.
Meanwhile, another woman, aged 45, was also charged with breach of the peace.
Police Scotland added that the matter will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
The incident is alleged to have taken place on the second floor of the store.
A New Look spokeswoman confirmed to the Tele that the store was liaising with police regarding the alleged incident.
However, the spokeswoman for the store declined to comment further.
It is understood the alleged assault took place on Saturday just after 9am.
A police spokeswoman said today: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 21-year-old woman was charged in connection with an assault and a breach of the peace offence.
“A 45-year-old woman was charged with a breach of the peace offence following an incident at the Overgate, Dundee, on Saturday November 19.
The spokeswoman for the force added: “A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
An spokeswoman for the Overgate said: “Overgate security staff attended the scene when this was reported.”
The spokeswoman added that the alleged incident was handed over to the police.
A spokesman for the Crown Office said it had not received a report but it was expecting to receive one in due course.
