Key men concern for Bluebells boss

- BY JUNICUS

HOPEFULLY it will be a case of third time lucky for Scottish Cup participants tomorrow and the signs look much brighter after the last two weeks were wiped out due to frozen pitches.

Lochee United manager George Shields is sweating on the fitness of a number of players ahead of their all-Super League clash with Musselburgh at Thomson Park.

Paul Lunan and Stephen McNally are both recovering from back injuries, while substitute keeper Darren Clarkson has a hand injury and Dougie Cameron is trying to shake off an ankle injury.

Broughty Athletic prepared for their tie against Downfield with a midweek friendly against Tayport, which the Fed won 4-3.

The match allowed manager Keith Gibson to give some valuable game time to his full squad ahead of the clash with the Spiders.

Gibson will be without Jake Mair while Ryan Suttie and Jamie Winter are carrying knocks and face late fitness tests.

Downfield are still in the happy position of naming a fully-fit squad and remain confident they can cause a few surprises for the Super League outfit.

Violet will be without striker Ryan Dignan for their tie against Glenafton at Glenesk. Ben Finnie, Aaron Kane and Barry Wilson are all out injured.

North End await a visit from Linlithgow Rose and manager Andy Heggie will be without Dayle Robertson because of work commitments, while Ryan Winter has a fractured metatarsal and will also be missing.

The Dokens are still inviting enquiries for Gary Robertson and Ryan Hunter, who are both on the transfer list at their own request. Interested clubs should contact Andy Heggie on 07737 521024.

Jeanfield host North Region Super League side Hermes. Swifts are without central defender Mark Duigan, who is ruled out with a knee injury. Scott Mollison and Fraser Smith also miss the game as they are with the Scottish futsal squad in Wales.

Luncarty are at home to South League side Rosyth.

The Bleachers hope to have Gerry Kelly back after injury but striker Richard Donovan is cup-tied. Neil Ritchie is unavailable while Paddy Deane is suspended.

Kirrie Thistle know they stand in the way of a massive Fife derby.

Jim Finlayson’s side hope to see off Hill Of Beath at Westview Park, with a fourthround trip to Kelty Hearts at stake.
