Gowfers set to face new-look Dundonald

-

CARNOUSTIE will meet a new-look Dundonald Bluebell side when they play in Fife for the first time this season in the Super League.

Despite their good start since being promoted, the Fifers have been involved in a flurry of transfer activity with St Andrews, which has seen two Saints players, Craig Wedderburn and Barry Sibanda, head for Moorside Park while Scott Orrock, Scott Main, Ben Anthony and Rory Mooney make the opposite journey to Saints.

With most of the teams just above them involved in Scottish ties, the Gowfers could take advantage.

A win for Alan McSkimming’s side could see them jump up three places into 10th in the league, which is a far cry from a few weeks ago when they were propping up the table.

John Roberts is still out and the Gowfers have a few more players nursing injuries and will make a late selection.

In the Premier League, Forfar West End are away to St Andrews.

West End will have Calum Wall back in their squad but will still be without Craig Stephen (suspended) and Liam Godfrey (injured).

Craig Morrison started life as St Andrews United boss with a draw at Tayport, since then it’s been two postponements in a row, at home to Glenrothes and then last week away at Dalkeith Thistle and the new boss is itching for his side to get back to competitive action.

West End will start the game one point behind league leaders Kennoway Star Hearts, who have a home fixture against Tranent.

Third-top Sauchie visit a Dalkeith Thistle outfit who are sitting mid-table.
