Etxabeguren set for starting spot

-

DUNDEE centre-back Julen Etxabeguren is set for a return to the starting line-up for t o m o r r o w ’s key Premiership match at Kilmarnock.

The Basque defender got minutes under his belt in the midweek Development game at home to Falkirk which finished goalless.

And, with regular starter Kevin Gomis travelling back to France to be with his wife as she gives birth, there may be a first start on the cards since the win at Hamilton for Etxabeguren.

Manager Paul Hartley, though, will give Gomis every chance to make the game at Rugby Park.

He said:“Gomis has had to go back to France. His wife gave birth, so he’s had to go away. We’ll see how he is for the weekend, he may miss out.

“It might just be too much for him going away and coming back again.”

In terms of injuries, the Dark Blues are in good shape with only James McPake (knee) and Mark O’Hara (hernia) out with injury.

O’Hara will see a specialist on Tuesday after feeling discomfort kicking the ball this week.

In last week’s win over Inverness, Hartley thought his side could play better but, at t he moment, i s only concerned with one thing.

“It’s just about winning,” he said.

“I felt we could use the ball a little bit better but for us just now it’s about picking up points.

“We’re doing that just now but there’s still a long way to go, a lot of hard work. The league’s so tight, so we want to keep pushing forward.”
