Second-half blitz puts Kinnoull top

KINNOULL are the new leaders in the North League after a 3-1 home win against Brechin Vics.

All the goals were scored in the second half, Keiran Donald, Robbie Norrie and Rhys Davidson for ’Noull with Ryan Young the Vics scorer. Coupar Angus drew 3-3 with visitors Blairgowri­e. Joe Sturrock put Coupar ahead but Alan Cruikshank levelled.

Goals from Daniel Neath and Blair Fleming had the hosts 3-1 up but Blair fought back to snatch a point thanks to an Alan Cruikshank double which completed his hat-trick.

Scone Thistle had a resounding 6-0 win at Newburgh.

Craig Mitchell, Abi Njie, Kevin Sinclair and a hat-trick from Fraser Mills made up Scone’s tally.

Lochee Harp were involved in another goal feast as they edged home in a seven-goal thriller against Arbroath Vics.

It looked like the sides would settle for a point apiece when they were tied at 3-3 after a ding-dong battle but Michael Gormley’s side grabbed a lastminute winner to pick up three welcome points.

Graham Allan scored a double for the home side with Cammy McMahon and an own goal making up their tally.

IN the Super League, Carnoustie had an eventful 3-2 win at Dundonald.

The Gowfers played the entire second half with 10 men after Danny Millar was sent off in 40 minutes.

The hosts also finished with 10 men after they had a player sent off with 20 minutes to go.

Sam Simpson netted two penalties for Carnoustie and Jamie McCabe was their other scorer.
