Bleachers march on after sinking Recs

-

LUNCARTY advanced to round four with a 3-2 win over Rosyth.

The Bleachers went ahead after 22 minutes, Robbie Millar heading home. Minutes into the second half, Rosyth levelled through Scott Duthie.

Luncarty regained their lead in 67 minutes when Jamie Reid scored following a goalmouth scramble.

Five minutes later, Richard Doig made it 3-1 with a 20-yard strike. Mark McCullie scored for Rosyth late on.

North End were handed a lesson by Linlithgow Rose with the former winners cruising to a 5-0 win. Tommy Coyne grabbed a hat-trick with Kevin Kelbie grabbing a double.

Violet put up a brave show against Glenafton but found the handicap of playing 70 minutes with 10 men too big a hurdle to overcome. Kevin Scott was given his marching orders after 20 minutes.

Jeanfield lost 3-2 at home to Hermes. Daniel Kelly put Swifts ahead before Hermes had a man sent off.

However, the 10-man visitors hit back from a penalty before the break.

Swifts regained their lead in 50 minutes through Scott Sutherland.

Hermes then missed a penalty but, incredibly, were then awarded a third, which they converted to make it 2-2. The North Region outfit then scored late on to claim the tie.

RESULT of the week: BROUGHTY ATHLETIC’S 5-1 win at Downfield.
