Easton is more than a defender
HE scored one of the goals in St Johnstone’s 5-1 rout of Aberdeen at Pittodrie last season.
And Brian Easton has also been a goalmaker in Saints’ last two games, laying on perfect balls for Steven MacLean to score against Ross County and Danny Swanson t o net against I nverness Caley Thistle.
Although he states that “making goals is part of my game”, Brian knows defending is his main job.
The f ormer Hamilton, Burnley and Dundee leftback is one of Saints’ most reliable performers and is looking to maintain that consistency against Aberdeen when the Perth men meet t he Dons at Pittodrie at the weekend.
“I’m pleased with my form and hope to still be saying that after this Saturday’s game,” Brian added.
“I don’t score many, I look to make goals and, for Danny’s against Inverness, I received a great ball from Joe Shaughnessy and Danny put in great movement ahead of me. I found him with a ball in from wide and he scored.”
Brian was not only happy with the win over Inverness Caley Thistle but also with a clean sheet.
“In our last game against Ross County, we lost four cheap goals, so Saturday’s clean sheet was big for us,” Brian went on.
He’s been three-and-ahalf years at St Johnstone and wants to stay on.
His contract is up at the end of the season and he said: “I’m happy here and am keen to stay on.”
