and if I can get forward I will get up to support,” said the 23-year-old.

“Obviously, you have to get up and down the park plus make challenges but I think that is what is expected of me.

“I also think in that position it is good to know you have three centrebacks behind covering you.”

After a good run of results and performances, the Dundee players fell below their expected standards as they slipped to defeat against Kilmarnock.

The former Doonhamer believes it wasn’t the same team the punters had seen in recent weeks but couldn’t quite put his finger on why.

“It just wasn’t us at the weekend,” admitted Kevin.

“The last few weeks we have been stuffy and hard to beat but we just didn’t perform as well as we can do on Saturday.

He also thinks Kilmarnock, who pressed the Dee all over the park, did to them what they have been doing to other teams and they didn’t cope with it.

Kevin continued: “They did to us what we’ve been doing to other teams by getting in our faces and being at it from the start.

“They maybe caught us on the back foot a little.

“We knew they were going to do that but we didn’t handle it well enough.

“We have to stick to what has been working for us and get back on course this weekend against Ross County.”

Another big match coming up and one Dundee will look to get three points from with a better performance than the showing at Killie. A TRIP to Stirling Albion in the next round of the Scottish Cup lies in wait for Clyde or Arbroath when they meet for the first time at Broadwood tonight.

Both teams had disappointing results in League Two at the weekend, the Bully Wee losing 1-0 at Cowdenbeath and the Gayfield side going down by the same score at home to Edinburgh City.

Red Lichties manager Dick Campbell said: “We did not go out and play in the right way at the weekend. I think the players will have picked up pretty easily that I was far from happy.

“Edinburgh City set up to frustrate us, and we allowed

it to happen. Too many players stopped being creative and accepted what was going on.”
Campbell added: “Clyde are the bigger club than Arbroath so we are the underdogs this time out.”
