Leaders West End will miss Ramsay

-

NEW Premier League leaders Forfar West End entertain mid-table Dalkeith Thistle.

Though clearly favourites, the Strathmore side suffered a blow in their narrow win at St Andrews last week with Matty Ramsay fracturing his ankle.

Despite losing to Glenafton last week, Violet can take heart from their performance, and they will be looking to bounce back with a win over Kennoway at Glenesk.

League points are a priority now for Ralph Henderson’s side as they bid to get off the bottom of the table. Third-top Kennoway won’t be easy opponents, however, and they then face a local derby against Downfield before they go into a two-week shutdown over the festive period.

Henderson will be without the injured trio of Ben Finnie, Aaron Kane and Barry Wilson. Adding to the manager’s selection headache, Ryan Dignan is unavailable and Kevin Scott suspended. Downfield face a lengthy trip to Tranent. Despite last week’s defeat from Broughty Athletic in the Scottish Cup, manager Paul Marr is unlikely to be making too many changes. The Spiders name a full-strength pool, including Jack Neave, who is now free of suspension.

Tayport hope to end the year on a high with wins in their final two games.

First up for the Fifers is a visit from Haddington, who lost 3-1 at home when they last met.

However, ’Port are likely to be without a number of players. Scott McDowell and Sergio Alvarez are both out injured, while Jamie Mackie and player/ manager John Ovenstone are suspended.

Also struggling is Kieran Conway, who picked up a knock in a friendly against East Craigie.

Meanwhile, St Andrews’ last league win was way back in mid-August and it was against tomorrow’s visitors Bathgate Thistle.

JEANFIELD have no game tomorrow but were in action in midweek, beating Oakley 6-0 in a friendly at Kelty. Tony Holt hit a hat-trick with Sean Fleming, Robbie Holden and Daniel Kelly also on target.
