With good run are big scalp

- By bARRy SMITH

DUNDEE United’s Scott Fraser believes the professionalism of the Tannadice players won’t allow for a slip-up when they travel to Somerset Park to play Ayr tomorrow.

After such a good win against Hibs, it would be easy to become complacent but the attacking midfielder doesn’t envisage that problem in the United dressing-room.

He said: “I think we are professional enough to treat each team with respect, whether it’s Ayr or Hibs, so I don’t think this game becomes any more difficult.”

The Tangerines head into the clash in an excellent run of form where they haven’t lost in nine league games.

Their last defeat was to Falkirk in the middle of September, which is good going in such a competitive division.

Fraser sees this as an incentive for other teams, though, which will make tomorrow’s game a test.

“We’re a scalp, if you like, especially with the run we are on,” he said.

“We expect a tough match every week in this league. When you are at the top, most teams will be looking to sit in against us.”

However, the 21-year-old is sure manager Ray McKinnon will have the team organised to win the game.

“The manager will set us up in a way he thinks we can impose our style and that’s all we will be looking to do,” said Fraser.

“We will be aiming for three points again.”
