Bain aims to halt recent Staggies revival at Dens

“On the whole, you just prepare. You know he is a good player and what he is capable of.

“Personally, I don’t focus on one player.

“Certain things like penalties or set-pieces you can look and see if they do something that is consistent.

“You can only play the game in front of you and react to what happens in that.”

The importance of the home game is not lost on Scott but he doesn’t believe it will determine where Dundee will finish in the league this season.

“I think it is important, as the league is so tight. Three points are huge but there is a long way to go.

“Throughout the season teams will change places a lot, the important thing is to keep ourselves round about the top six and try to push for that place.

“It’s that tight, with two wins you’re right up there and with two defeats you’re dragged right back down.”

Last week’s defeat to Killie was a sore one to take after the good run of form the Dark Blues were in but Bainy insists the mood in the camp is still high as they look to beat County.

“We were disappointed last weekend but morale is still high just now due to the results we have had.

“It was frustrating last Saturday as we were thinking we could have taken three points and pushed into a top-six place.

“We are looking forward to tomorrow’s game, though, and are confident of taking all three points.”
