Gowser poised for Dens recall

-

DUNDEE midfielder Paul McGowan l ooks set t o return to the starting line-up tonight when Hearts come to Dens Park.

The former St Mirren and Celtic player missed the trip to Parkhead last week through suspension after incurring six bookings.

The Dark Blues set up in an unfamiliar 5-4-1 formation at Celtic Park but look likely to return to their 3-5-2 system which has served them well recently.

The extra berth in midfield is normally where McGowan plays and, if selected, would slot back there with no problem.

Another player who may come into contention for a place in the starting XI is Mark O’Hara.

The converted midfielder came on as a substitute last weekend after a l engthy spell out with a hernia problem.

The last time the former Killie man began a game was back on October 15 in the defeat against tonight’s visitors Hearts Tynecastle.

The industrious 21-yearold could be set for a full recall after his cameo role at Celtic Park where the Dee nearly snatched a draw.

After his introduction in that game, he helped set up Marcus Haber for his goal and played an influential part as Dundee looked to gain a point.

Yo r d i T e i j s s e has recovered from illness but Nicky Low — who has been sidelined for most of the season with an ankle complaint — has suffered another setback after sustaining a groin strain.

Meanwhile, Hearts midfielder Prince Buaben is doubtful for t o n i g h t ’s encounter as he undergoes treatment on a calf injury.

The former Dundee United man was forced off against Partick Thistle last Saturday and Hearts are trying to manage the problem to allow him to feature over the festive period. at
