LeFebvre: ‘We’re ready to meet the challenge’

-

DUNDEE CCS Stars look to bounce back from their run of three defeats when they take on Fife Flyers in a league and Gardiner Conference match at Dundee Ice Arena tonight.

A tough festive period schedule has seen the Taysiders travel to Cardiff, Nottingham and Manchester over five days where they lost on each occasion.

Added to that, they piled up an injury list that could see some key players missing from the game tonight. Late fitness tests will determine who makes it and who doesn’t.

Fife halted their losing streak by defeating Edinburgh Capitals 9-3 in Fife Ice Arena on Monday so they will be in confident mood as they cross the Tay for what will be a fiercelycontested encounter.

Stars coach Marc LeFebvre said: ‘This is another huge game for us but we are ready for the challenge.

“We had a great five weeks at the end of October and in November but then started to pick up injuries. We need to recapture that form.’

“I can’t fault the guys’ efforts but we need to find a way to win and tighten things up a bit.

“On the night we are capable of beating anyone — so the challenge lies in front of us and we will definitely be ready.”

IN the Elite League last night, Braehead Clan had a 7-2 victory away to Edinburgh Capitals while Cardiff Devils came out on top at home to Coventry Blaze by 6-4. There was a very tight game in Nottingham where the Panthers enjoyed a 3-2 success over Sheffield Steelers.
