POLICE are investigating after two high-value cars were stolen from outside a house in Angus.

A black Audi Quattro and a black Range Rover were taken, along with car keys, from Anderson Place in Carnoustie sometime between late last night and the early hours of today.

Calum Owens, 38, told the Tele that he was woken up by police knocking on his door at 4am.

They told him that both cars had been found abandoned in Dundee.

Mr Owens said: “Someone has stolen my Range Rover and my wife’s Audi from outside our house while we were sleeping and we didn’t know anything about it.

“The first we knew was when the police knocked on the door.

“I don’t know too much yet about exactly what happened but apparently the cars were found dumped Dundee.

“It seems my Range Rover is now undriveable and my wife’s Audi is pretty banged up.

“The police told me they had taken the cars to a garage in Dundee.

“I’m now just waiting for police forensics officers to come to the house to see what they can find out.”

He added: “I hope the scumbags who thought it was a good idea to steal both of our cars think it was worth it.

“I hope they enjoyed the ride and the couple of hours of fun they had destroying the things that we have worked hard for.

“I hope the police find them and that justice is done.”

Mr Owens said he had no idea yet when the cars would be returned.

He said: “I’m very upset and very angry.

“It’s incredible that someone can do this.”

A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information after car keys and two cars were stolen from an address in Anderson Place, Carnoustie, between 11.30pm yesterday and 3am today.
