Toshney set for Utd starting XI

-

LEWIS Toshney looks set to be restored to the Dundee United starting line-up for tomorrow’s end-of-year Championship trip to Dumbarton.

Toshney missed last week’s home victory over St Mirren because of suspension.

He’s also had a badlybruised toe that required an injection but will be fit to return to duty as United aim for a 15th unbeaten game in a row.

And if gaffer Ray McKinnon decides to freshen his line-up further, there could also be a place for Stewart Murdoch i n midfield.

Ray is keen to get him more game ti me as he works to ensure as many of his squad as possible are fully match fit.

“What Stewart needs now is games but there are no Development matches because they’re on their break.

“It could be that, like with Paul Dixon against St Mirren last week, we put him in for one of the firstteam matches and get him up to scratch that way.”

After going off in the first half last week with a head knock, Mark Durnan has been training normally for the past few days.

He will take over from Coll Donaldson and resume his partnership with William Edjenguele at the heart of the Tangerines’ defence.

United head for the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium knowing that a victory won’t just avenge defeat there i n August, it will see them finish the year at t he t op of t he Championship.
