Goalie targets points at Dens

-

ST JOHNSTONE keeper Zander Clark said Saints will take the Rangers performance into the game against Dundee at Dens Park tomorrow.

Saints drew 1-1 against the Ibrox club at McDiarmid Park on Wednesday night.

It was a big game but so is tomorrow’s encounter and Zander i s “looking forward” to another huge atmosphere and, hopefully, three points.

“I was in the Saints team which beat Dundee 2-1 at McDiarmid earlier in the season and a similar result will be just fine,” he said.

Zander has taken over the Saints No 1 spot from Northern Ireland international keeper Alan Mannus and, although he blundered against Rangers and also Motherwell to concede goals, he has, generally, done well.

“Since our loss to Ross County at home we have been on a good run,” he continued.

“Everybody in our squad is digging in for each other. We have a really good team ethic.

“Guys are walking through walls f or t heir team-mates and that type of attitude is standing us in good stead.”

Saints will have Murray Davidson available again after he missed the Rangers fixture due to suspension.

H o w e v e r, M i c h a e l Coulson and Ally Gilchrist are still out injured.

Manager Tommy Wright is looking to go into the break on a high by extending their unbeaten run to six games.

He said: “We are only three points behind Hearts and we have an opportunity to draw level if they were to lose . We know the importance of the game, the fact that it’s a derby and that we can gain on Aberdeen or Hearts whatever way their result goes. We need to make sure we finish off 2016 on a high.”
