Paul seeking a break-time win
DUNDEE boss Paul Hartley is looking for another home win to take his side into the Premiership’s winter break tomorrow.
And if his Dark Blues can make it four victories and a draw from their last five Dens Park outings when they face St Johnstone, he believes it will set them up well for the second half of the season.
“We do want to try to get to the break on a positive result and have a decent points tally.
“It’s against a difficult team and St Johnstone are very good away from home, so it won’t be easy.
“But our home record is not bad, it’s been OK those last four games, and we’ll just try to get the win and put ourselves in a decent position.”
And Paul believes his players can pick themselves up from the disappointment of losing to Partick Thistle at Firhill on Wednesday and get the job done.
“We haven’t had too much time to dwell on Wednesday, we’ve had to pick ourselves up and be positive.
“The boys have and I don’t think there was too much between the teams on the night.
“We weren’t composed enough in the final third for my liking and we need to improve on that.
“Our final ball could have been better but we had some good spells in the game.”
The gaffer could freshen his line-up for this one and, after i mpressing when coming on for the last halfhour at Firhill, striker Faissal El Bakhtaoui i s likely to be in contention for a starting place.
The 24-year-old hasn’t started since the 2-1 defeat down at Saints in October.
Midfielder Mark O’Hara did not feature at all against the Jags but could be involved at some stage tomorrow.
