Bouncing around

ABERTAY University is the only place in Scotland that is offering certified Kangoo Jump exercise classes.

The Tele leapt at the chance to send reporter Adam Hill along to find out what it’s all about. was but your mind is kept busy trying to keep up with Liana. It was a great workout and it was a great laugh.

I have to admit that I was the worst “jumper” in the class — all the ladies made me look like an amateur.

The real test would be the next morning — walking back to my car, I feared that I would wake up incapacitated. I was surprised when I awoke feeling fresh without any pain in my joints.

I can imagine that anyone with issues with their joints would see the classes as a godsend.

Liana told me that the classes can be of use to a wide variety of people, including elderly people and youngsters.

She said: “The boots can be used for a lot of things, including rehabilitating injuries. There is an 80% reduction in impact on joints.

“That means they are also great for the elderly and also for young people. Kids as young as four can use them without hurting themselves.

“It is a very effective form of cardiovascular exercise that won’t injure them. They are really good for runners too because of the way they reduce the impact on the knees, hips and ankles.”

Liana said that she plans on promoting the classes around the country to develop a nationwide network.

She said: “I want to develop Kangoo Scotland — there is a UK-based organisation but it is mainly in London. I think that the classes should be available to everyone.”
