Swift introduction for Jeanfield new man

-

DESPITE the vast majority of games falling victim to the weather, there was to be no idle day for Jeanfield Swifts players.

The Perth men had been due to visit Laing Park for a Super League game against Carnoustie.

However, with the Gowfers’ pitch declared unplayable, Swifts boss Ross Gunnion decided to call his men in for an indoor training session.

Swifts are due to visit Tayport this Saturday for a DJ Laing East of Scotland Cup second-round tie.

And in their squad for the trip to The Canniepairt will be James Yeats, who has joined the Perth men following his release from Forfar Athletic.

It’s a major coup for Swifts as the player was also attracting interest from Arbroath.

The defender trained with his new team-mates on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Jack Parr, who was on loan at the Riverside Stadium from Cowdenbeath, has now signed a permanent deal with Swifts.

Scott Sutherland, who was also on a loan spell at the club from Cowdenbeath, has now signed for Berwick Rangers.

However, the good news for Jeanfield is the Shiefield Park outfit are allowing Sutherland to continue his loan stint in Perth.

End’s Martin Strachan remains on the transfer list and interested clubs should contact Andy Heggie on 07737 521024.
