Keeper concern as Bleachers are held

-

IN the North League, Luncarty didn’t get the win they hoped for before next week’s Scottish tie with Auckinleck, being held at home to a goalless draw by East Craigie.

A blow for the Bleachers was keeper Duncan Bruce forced off with a groin injury midway through the first half, casting doubts over his fitness for this week. With no recognised keeper on the subs bench, outfield player Dan Walker filled the void and was never unduly troubled. On the other hand, Craigie’s Liam Dunn was by far the busier of the two goalies and defied the home efforts with a series of fine saves.

That said, Graeme McLeish did pass up a gilt-edged chance for Craigie in the first half.

North End cruised to a 5-0 win over Forfar Albion. Zak Wilson (2), Dayle Robertson, Euan McIlvennie and Ryan Smith got the Dokens goals.

Kinnoull strolled to a 5-1 win over Lochore. Mark Smith (2), Robbie Norrie and Rhys Davies (2) scored for the winners.

Kinnoull have transfer-listed central defender Liam Woolley. All enquiries should be directed to Chris Jones on 07940 814370.

Understrength Blairgowrie were hit for six at home to Thornton Hibs without reply.

It was Blair’s third success defeat and deals another blow to their fast-fading promotion hopes.

RESULT of the week — CARNOUSTIE’S terrific 2-1 win at Linlithgow is tops.
