Paul in action in Paisley

- BY GEORGE CRAN

MORE than 100 fans will be following Dundee boxer Paul Kean to Paisley tomorrow as he faces his third bout since turning professional.

Paul takes on tough Belfast fighter Casey Blair in a superwelterweight clash in the Lagoon Centre.

And with plenty of support cheering him on in the ring, coach Paul Kean Sen. is hoping for another successful bout as Paul Jun. looks to make it three wins out of three.

Coach Paul said: “Paul is in brilliant shape right now. He’s been sparring with Derry Mathews, ex-pro and world champion, to get him ready and we’re looking forward to it.

“Paul’s getting fights now with people who normally you don’t face until fight 10, 12 or 14. It’s really good for him to get these types of fights so soon.”

After defeating Willie Warburton last time out in the same venue in front of plenty of his fans, Paul has again managed to sell more than 100 tickets.

Paul Sen. said: “We’ve sold 105 tickets for this one so, hopefully, they’ll see another good result.”

ANTHONY Joshua is on course to realise his ambition of boxing in Las Vegas having finally secured a US visa despite his drugs conviction.

He was arrested in 2011 in England for possessing cannabis and intent to supply.

He was suspended from the GB boxing squad, sentenced to a 12-month community order and 100 hours’ unpaid work.

“We got there in the end. To have my visa is a big thing,” he said.
