SNP simply furthering its own agenda

-

I AGREE with recent correspondent “SNP No More”.

It’s time for the SNP to show it is a serious political party and not just a party fixated with separation and isolation from the rest of the UK.

Politics that distinguish between what race or nationality you are have never appealed to me. I wish the SNP would concentrate on improving things for Scottish people in areas such as education, the NHS and Police Scotland to name a few. Major improvements are needed.

The SNP knows that if we become independent then we will have to leave the UK, which is our main trading partner. There is no chance whatsoever of Scotland gaining instant access to the EU. If I am wrong on this perhaps our SNP MSPs or MPs can correct me?

We would have to join the back of the queue, leaving us isolated and economically fragile. The chances of austerity on a scale we have never experienced before would significantly rise, especially with a deficit of 10% at present.

The future of the EU as we know it is precarious and other countries such as France may follow the UK in leaving. This would inevitably lead to the end of the EU.

Scotland would then be completely isolated and cut adrift in the global world we live in.

The set-up at Westminster is not perfect by any means but we have to be realistic about our situation and face facts.

I am keen for the SNP to use its powers at Holyrood to govern the country well and concentrate on the issues that matter to Scottish people, rather than furthering its own political agenda, which is a huge risk to all Scots.

United We Stand.
