Councillor ‘out of touch’

THE chairman of West End Community Council in Dundee has slammed an SNP councillor for his comments over parking in the area.

Jimmy Black said the council should not refuse applications for houses of multiple occupation in the West End because of concerns over parking and warned the city council’s development management committee this could “strangle” the housing market. Community council chairman Peter Menzies has hit back, saying: “Jimmy Black is out of touch with reality.”

Neil Gellatly, the city council’s head of roads and transportation, will attend the community council’s meeting on March 14 in Logie St John’s Church Hall to discuss ways to ease West End congestion.
