Delays ahead for motorists

-

MOTORISTS are being advised to car share or use the bus when disruption caused by a multimillion-pound infrastructure project starts in Perth on Monday.

Pe r t h a n d K i n ro s s Council expects considerable delays during roadworks on the A9 between Broxden and Inveralmond roundabouts. Residents have been advised to discuss shift patterns or the possibility of working from home with employers.

The work, part of the Perth Transport Futures Project, will create a new junction on the A9 with a link road to the Bertha Park development, which will be located west of the city.

The scheme aims t o improve air quality i n Perth’s city centre, alleviate congestion and provide roads i nfrastructure to support economic growth.

Major engineering roadworks will take place on the A9 and the A85 slip roads in three phases. The first will start on Monday and run until March 5 and will result in outside lane closures on northbound and southbound carriageways of the A9.
