-

FORMER student Scott Hastie has taken on the role as manager of Fife College’s first student radio station, Boom Radio.

Scott completed an HND creative industries radio course in 2013 and then gained a master’s degree at Sunderland University.

During his time at university he was given the responsibility of running the award-winning student radio, Spark FM.

Scott has been working with students and staff to bring Boom Radio to life since last August.

Students have been given the opportunity to help Scott with the day-today running of the station.

Scott said: “The aim of Boom Radio is to give students at Fife College a voice, to share all the great things that they are doing and achieving.

“It is also a great way for students to get involved in an extra-curricular activity and develop a variety of different skills.”

Scott also works as a music officer for the Student Radio Association, the national representative body for student radio stations.
