-

LETHAM U/15 girls ended their pre-season on a high with a 6-2 win over Forfar Farmington at Station Park.

Letham went behind but hit back when Ellie MacIver scored two nearly identical goals.

The Perth team continued to dominate the play and created several chances.

Kirsty Robertson was continually testing the Forfar keeper who pulled off some cracking saves but Kirsty got her hat-trick with three consecutive goals.

She then made way for 12-year-old Mikaela Wilson who came on to score her first 11-a-side goal this year, a cool finish into the bottom corner.

Forfar scored a well placed consolation goal with five minutes to go.

Now Letham look forward to their league opener away to Monifieth on Saturday.

The Letham women’s team were also at Station Park, taking on Forfar Farmington in their first ever league game.

Forfar opened the scoring but Letham responded shortly after, with Danielle Millar finding space on the edge of the box to score.

The game was fairly even until the last 5 minutes where Farmington’s fitness and experience showed with the final score ending 3-1 in their favour.

There were plenty of positives for the Letham Ladies as 14-year-olds Ellie MacIver and Kirsty Robertson got the opportunity to play 90 and 30 minutes respectively. This was great experience for the two youngsters.

Eilidh Angus (15) pulled off tremendous saves and there was excellent attacking work down the wings by Shannon Freeman.

Letham’s first season will be a challenge.

However, they are confident the mix of experience and talented youth players will see them get the results they want in the very near future as they look to make a successful entry into their debut season of league football.
