The Dundee and Angus Tourism Conference takes place on Tuesday, and organisers are looking for those working i n t he industry who go above and beyond to provide “experiences that exceed expectations”.

Caroline Findlay, head of support services for Leisure and Culture Dundee, said: “As all of our facilities have frontline services dealing with the public we were very conscious that the customer experience should be at the centre of everything we do.

“That’s why we decided to train all of our staff in World Host, so that the same principles and culture could be embedded from the frontline staff right to the top.”

The event is being run in connection with the World Host regional destination initiative, who provide “must-have” badges for tourism companies i n Scotland.

David Allen, director of Scotland for People 1st, which runs the initiative in Scotland, said: “Great customer service is critical to the long-term future success of tourism in Scotland. Excellent service can make the difference between a business surviving and thriving.”
