Funding to help local local communitie­s

THREE local groups i n Dundee and Fife have received grants of £102,488 between them.

Using money raised by HealthGift CIC, through the Health Lottery, grants were awarded by People’s Health Trust through Active Communitie­s, a f unding programme that invests in local people and groups with great ideas communitie­s.

So far, HealthGift CIC has raised more than £1,421,624 to support local good causes in Mid Scotland.

Active Communitie­s is for community groups and notfor-profit organisati­ons with an i ncome of less than £350,000 a year that are seeking investment of between £5,000 and £50,000 for projects.

Among the groups to benefit is Different Visions Celebrate, which will receive £26,630 to enable young people from the LGBTI community in Dundee to be able to meet safely, socialise and share informatio­n.

The other two groups to benefit are the Link Up Lunch Club in Whitfield, which will receive £31,783 and the CLEAR Buckhaven project that delivers events and activities in Buckhaven. It was awarded £44,075.
