Learning projects praised
COMMUNITY learning and development in Dundee has earned a glowing report from inspectors.
Education Scotland conducted an inspection of community l earning and development in the north-east and east end wards in December and January, and said t he council was providing very good education programmes, with “elements of excellence” in some areas.
The enthusiasm of local community volunteers who run various projects is highlighted for praise.
HM I nspector Alona Murray said: “Learners, volunteers and community members all benefit from the highly-effective programmes that partners, including community organisations, provide.
“Data, research and findings from community consultations are used consistently to inform priorities and planning.
“This has a very positive impact on how partners work t ogether t o identify and then address priority issues.”
