City care home has new owner

BENVIE Care Home i n Dundee has been acquired by Holistic Elderly Care, with support from Royal Bank of Scotland.

It will now be owned and independen­tly managed by Ewan Findlay, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the sector.

He previously owned Bridgeview Care Home and has since spent time on the board of the Scottish Care committee and as an independen­t consultant.

Opened in 1994, Benvie Care Home is a purposebui­lt building providing nursing and dementia care to around 60 service users.

The home, previously operated by Duncare Ltd, prides itself on its personcent­red care and holistic approach.

All staff will be upskilled and specially trained in the care of service users with dementia under manager Jasmine Ali.

Mr Findlay plans t o recruit more specialist­s, bringing the total number of full and part-time employees to 75.

The care home will now receive significan­t investment in a refurbishm­ent over the next 12 months.
