Record number of entries for show
THE Perth and Kinross Federation of the Scottish Women’s Institute (SWI) held its annual Spring Show at the Bankfoot Church Centre.
The event had colourful displays and competition entries centred on various themes including handcrafts, housewives, bulbs and floral art
Ursula Stewart, chairman of the federation, said: “We are celebrating the centenary of the SWI and this show in particular has a record number of entries. We also still have the Grand Tea Party being held in July at Perth Racecourse to look forward to.” .
Formed in 1917, the SWI promotes the preservation of Scotland’s traditions and rural heritage.
