Scottish title for Perth lads

SCOTTISH Hockey held 10 Cup and Plate Youth Finals on Glasgow Green. Perth High had a 3-0 win over Beaconhurst in the Boys Aspire Cup with goals from Ruaridh Fleming, Harris Wilkie and Fraser Robertson.

In the men’s National League Division One, Grove-Menzieshill should have no problem collecting full points when they play Hillhead on DISC (Saturday, 1pm). Top club Kelburne are away to bottom team Gordonians (Cults Academy, 1.30).

On Sunday, Menzieshill are again on DISC (1pm) to play Clydesdale while Kelburne play Uddingston.

Edinburgh University play Watsonians on Friday evening and Grange on Sunday.

In Division Two, Harris FP host Falkirk (DISC, 11.30) while MJV Dundee Wanderers are away to Granite City Wanderers.

Division Three has leaders Perthshire away to mid-table Aberdeen University and secondplaced Strathclyde University are also in Aberdeen to play AGSFP.

In regional B, top team Grove-Menzieshill II visit Anchor I who sit second.

In the Ladies fixtures, Division One has GroveMenzieshill v MJV Dundee Wanderers at Dalnacraig.

In Division Two, Grange I host Dundee University on Sunday and, a week today, Dundee University are away to Inverleith.

Championship One includes Kinross Ladies v Grove-Menzieshill II and Championship Two includes Dundee University II v Grange II and Ayr I v St Andrews University II. Perthshire I visit Watsonians A. On Sunday, Perth are at Stirling Wanderers I.

There is a full programme on Saturday for Midland men’s Division One and both divisions of the Midland Ladies.

A Midland EGM has been called on Monday in Dundee West Church Hall, 32 Perth Road (7pm).

Included on the four item agenda are constitutional amendments, ratification of the 2016 AGM decisions and election of a president for the remainder of this season then AOCB.

The meeting will be followed by a discussion forum to identify operational concerns of clubs. All clubs should ensure they are represented.
