Success of fund celebrated
A SHOWCASE event was held at The Steeple i n Dundee to celebrate the success of community projects funded by NHS Tayside’s Community Innovation Fund.
Representatives from more than 40 funded projects presented their work to NHS Tayside chairman Professor John Connell and shared their ideas and information with other projects.
More than 120 community groups have been awarded money since the launch of the fund two years ago.
The Community Innovation Fund, which builds on the work of the former cash4communities fund, helps groups t o develop l ocal i mprovement projects. The fund is financed through the Tayside Health Fund, the charity for NHS Tayside.
Professor Connell said: “I am delighted to see such a wide range of community activities being supported by the fund. Building resilience in communities is a vital way of helping people t o live healthy lives and is a key part of the strategy of NHS Tayside to i mprove the wellbeing of the population of the region.
“The examples of the projects highlighted show really inspirational ways through which people all across Tayside have come together to develop exciting i deas that are now coming to fruition and delivering major benefits to society.”
Community groups can apply f or any amount between £500 and £25,000 over a three-year period.
