Stars aim to go all out to secure play-off spot

DUNDEE CCS Stars are looking to secure their Elite League play-off place this weekend when they take on Fife Flyers in a double header.

Flyers host the first clash in Fife Ice Arena tomorrow (fo 7.15pm) before the two go head-to-head in Dundee Ice Arena on Sunday (6.30pm).

Stars require one point from their two fixtures to secure qualification for the quarter-final stages but coach Marc LeFebvre will be looking to do it in style and take full points from the two games.

He said: “We have got to take care of our own business and that means we will be going out to win both matches, giving us the momentum going into the play-offs.

“We aren’t looking to see what the other teams do but will be focused on our own game.

“There are so many mathematical permutations as to what can happen involving us, Coventry Blaze and Manchester Storm.

“However, the simple resolution from our point of view is for us to win.

“Then we know for certain that we are through. It’s in our hands and we are ready.”

Flyers have already qualified for the play-offs and will be out to secure as high a league position as possible to keep their own momentum going.

DUNDEE Comets also have a doubleheader this weekend.

The SNL side will host Moray Typhoons at DIA tomorrow (fo 8pm) before making the trip north to Elgin on Sunday to play the second leg of this aggregate-score play-off game.
