United fan reaction

-

DUNDEE United’s travelling support had to endure some nervy spells throughout the afternoon at Fir Park, but it was they who stayed to see their side take to the podium following the 2-1 win over St Mirren.

Malcolm Sinclair, 57, said: “Glad to have won it. Hopefully it kick starts us again. I still think we are going to make the play-offs, but we need to do better.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a great achievement, but it’s an achievement — any cup will do!”

Gavin Sinclair, 59, who came over from the States to see the game, said: “I came from America just for this, to see United v St Mirren, would never miss it. I’m just glad we won something.”

John Bremner, 55, was critical of the team early on but felt the manager made the right call after the break. He said: “We were shocking in the first half but McKinnon talked to the players, settled them down, and reorganised.

“We were a different team second half and we deserved to win. He got the shape right and the subs right, so well played to McKinnon.”
