David in charge of U/18s
DAVID Knipe, a former Menzieshill player, has been named head coach of the Scottish U/18 Boys’ hockey squad.
The U/18 boys finished third at the Euro Championships II in Glasgow last year and their 2017 programme kicks off at Easter with a trip to Cardiff for games against Wales and Switzerland.
In their Ladies KO Cup semi, Wanderers II lost 2-0 to Perthshire II. In the Plate semi, Monarchs lost 7-2 to Madras FP. Their finals are at DISC at 1pm and 2.30pm on Saturday.
In the men’s National League Division One, Grove-Menzieshill visit Clydesdale on Sunday.
The Saturday fixtures are Grange v Hillhead, Kelburne v Watsonians, Western v Edinburgh University and Clydesdale v Gordonians.
In Division Two, MJV Dundee Wanderers host Inverleith at Dalnacraig (3.30pm) in a table-top clash.
St Andrews University host Harris FP. Dundee University visit Dunfermline.
On Sunday, it’s Dundee Wanderers v Dundee University and Dunfermline v St Andrews University.
In Division Three, Monarch host Stirling University at Dalnacraig (2pm).
In the men’s Regional B, Grove-Menzieshill II are away to Inverleith II. A draw would clinch the title as they have a six-point lead over the Edinburgh team.
The Ladies Division One fixtures on Saturday include Edinburgh University v GroveMenzieshill and Watsonians v MJV Dundee Wanderers.
On Sunday, Grove are away to MCC Western I.
On Saturday, Division Two includes St Andrews University v Grange and Granite City Wanderers v Dundee University. Championship One has Grove II away to MCC Western III.
In Championship Two, Perthshire visit Erskine SM II and St Andrews University II host Stirling Wanderers.
At the Midland EGM, the proposed updates to the constitution were agreed and the record of the 2016 AGM accepted.
Harry Byres will take the chair until the AGM on May 8 (7pm) in Dundee West Church.
