Dee must do the talking on pitch

-

DUNDEE boss Paul Hartley has told his players the best way to make amends for Friday’s horror show against Aberdeen i s by winning at Ross County tonight.

Since the 7-0 home hammering at the hands of the Dons, there has been apologies and promises things will get better.

For Paul, though, it is a case of actions speaking louder than words.

He believes it was only right the players apologised for such a poor display but they must also pick up points between now and the end of the season.

“It’s OK talking and having meetings but they have to go out and show they’re over it,” he said.

“We have to be up for this game and we have to be ready.

“I’m not the only manager saying it, Jim McIntyre will be saying it, too, and we have to be ready and show what we’re about.

“It’s all about picking up points now, forget about anything else.”

As hurt as he himself was by the events on Friday, Paul’s focus since has been on making sure his team is ready for a tough battle in the Highlands.

“We’ve got to get over it and we’ve got to get over it quickly.

“We said that after the game when we had a chat with the players and we came in on Sunday and we were positive. “You can’t dwell on it. “It can happen, it didn’t happen in a nice manner but we have to get ready for the next game.”

Dundee have been boosted by the return of main striker Marcus Haber after he missed Friday because of a knee problem suffered against Celtic last month.

But fellow-attacker Faissal El Bakhtaoui will miss out because of a calf strain.
