ANOTHER LOSS FOR DEPLETED DUNDEE

-

IT was another depleted team and another defeat for Dundee men in National Volleyball League One.

The 3-0 loss to Glasgow Mets ll gave the bottom side their first league win of the season.

Dundee travelled to Motherwell with most of their recognised starting line-up missing, including Oz Dowie who was out with an ankle injury.

The visitors started well and took a 9-4 lead with points from Dave Bonnar, Colin McEvoy and Lewis Crockart.

H o w e v e r, the lead evaporated quickly before both sides won runs of points and Mets went on to win the set 25-23.

The second set was all about the home side, who won it 25-15.

A change of rotation from the Dundee coach seemed to have the desired effect in the third set as more Dundee points were secured.

However, a string of errors gave Mets the advantage before Dundee responded in determined fashion and won a run of five points.

The good work was undone by six unforced errors from the Dundee attack and Mets, who are already relegated, won the third set 25-18 and the match.

There are no National League fixtues this weekend but Dundee face the National Junior side the following Saturday i n Wishaw i n a f our-team event as part of the Junior National Team programme.
